Frequent grid outages push community facilities onto costly diesel generators. This project assesses off-grid and grid-hybrid solar systems as a cheaper, more resilient alternative for mosques, schools and small clinics in Ethiopia.

It compares upfront capital, expected ETB savings on fuel and grid charges, payback period, and reliability during outages, and outlines sizing guidance and financing options (including community endowment or pooled purchase) so facilities can plan an affordable transition.
